Compliance
Illinois Administrative Code requires that each school in Illinois has a Compliance Visit to ascertain that
districts/schools are complying with state operational requirements and all applicable state and federal
regulations.
The Compliance Visit includes:
-
Reviewing certificated personnel and paraprofessional credentials to ensure that all staff meets the
definition of being "highly qualified"; staff credentials must match the staff assignment.
-
Reviewing policy, health/life safety, procedures, financial records and school board minutes to ensure
they are in alignment with Illinois School Code and Administrative Code requirements.
Schools are visited every 4-5 years and Compliance Visit results determine a school's State Recognition Status.
